Introdution:

Taiwan Institute of Landscape Architects was established in 1994. It serves as the primary liaison and consulting organization for landscape-related matters with various government agencies, including the Ministry of the Interior's Construction and Planning Agency, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Council of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, and the Environmental Protection Administration. LASROC plays a pivotal role in promoting landscape-related policies, such as landscape laws, landscape master plans, cultural landscapes, key landscape projects, and landscape improvement plans. It has accumulated extensive experience in guiding policy directions and facilitating communication and coordination with central government units.

The main objectives and tasks of LASROC are as follows:

  1. Enhancing professional knowledge and education in landscape architecture, promoting awareness of landscapes, and fostering the concept of sustainable environmental use. This includes organizing professional landscape events and publishing relevant publications.
  2. Providing services related to landscape planning, design, construction, and management.
  3. Facilitating exchanges and cooperation with international landscape organizations.
  4. Promoting the establishment of a national landscape architect examination system and a system for the appointment of landscape professionals.
  5. Elevating the professional status and service quality of domestic landscape consulting companies.
  6. Conducting domestic private landscape architect certifications and promoting the professional status of certified landscape architects.
